“Yalla al Souk” — Let’s Go to the Market
A crewneck rooted in memory, heritage, and community.
Created in collaboration with Philadelphia artist Symone Salib, this sweater brings Sarah’s personal collection of vintage postcards and stamps from Syria to life. The back design features a custom stamp-style composition that is screenprinted, honoring the architecture, people, and landscape that inspired her childhood visits to the souks of Damascus — and the Souk she now holds space for on East Passyunk in Philadelphia.
The front includes embroidered text in English and Arabic (يلا عالسوق), meaning “let’s go to the market” — a nostalgic invitation turned full-circle symbol of culture, community, and home.
To carry the spirit forward, $5 from every purchase is donated to the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) to support medical relief and rebuilding efforts in Syria.
Wear it as a love letter to Syria and a nod to timeless market culture.
